Lent 2013: Day 10
Do you remember when the Carnival cruise ship, Triumph, was afloat in the Gulf of Mexico, very near the mouth of Mobile Bay? Paralyzed for days. I felt for the thousands of passengers and crew on board that ship. What was to be an experience never to forget has become just that - but for the wrong reason. Whether you’re on one of the largest of cruise ships or on board an airplane - you have to adjust to turning your life over to the maneuverings of others or objects or unexpected situations That’s not always a simple step to make. When you’re no longer in control – that can be a most uneasy and uncomfortable feeling.
I would think that turning one’s life over to Christ could be problematic to people as well. Some people, anyway. Allowing Christ to give me direction for my life, instruction on how I should live my life with others, altering the purpose of my life – could I do that?
??? Am I uneasy yielding my life – even to Christ ???
