Above: The London Eye is a giant 443 ft. tall ferris wheel built in 1999 on the banks of the River Thames in Central London to celebrate the turn of the century. It is located at the Western End of the Jubilee Gardens and is visited by about 3.5 million people each year. Located on the wheel are 32 sealed and air-condiotioned egg-shaped passenger capsules each holding about 25 people. The wheel turns at 10 miles per hour.
