Jesus had the convenience of someone else making His cross for Him. Most of us would have to make our own cross and more than likely many of us don't know how to fabricate one, let alone cut down a tree. Carrying our cross could be problematic. Then there is the question of how big it should be; how heavy? We really don't have the dimensions or weight of the Cross of Jesus, unless this information is with the Holy Grail which people are still searching for.
The carrying of the cross is more than physical. Jesus carried much more than just the physical aspects of the cross. If all I had were the physical aspects and not the moral and just aspects that our family faces, than the physical is a piece of cake to carry. It's the unseen that is much harder.

This picture is a charcoal sketch of the Virgin Mary drawn by my Aunt, Clara Buck, at the age of 16. She died in the 1970's at the age of 82. This one drawing remains with its wrinkles, water spots and love. I have it hanging in my home at well over 100 years old
I have been a Catholic Priest for 36 years with a wide variety of ministry participation including: high school teacher, parish priest/pastor, prison chaplain (Florida State Prison, Butler Transit Unit, Lawtey Correctional Center, Union Correctional Center, Death Row.) Have also been assigned as: summer camp admin, Diocesan Vocation Director. Was a hospital chaplain and have been involved in giving retreats, etc.
