This weekend Pope Benedict is in Spain, primarily to consecrate the new Cathedral of the Holy Family. Earlier, however, at a prayer service in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, he placed incense in a HUGE censer and it swung like you would not believe. Some say the speed of the censer reaches 45mph.

Thank you for posting this video of the Botafumeiro. I learned about your blog and have enjoyed reading many of your posts. Thank you again for your insights at the RCIA talk on Wednesday. I believe it would be very easy to make the talk about the Mass a 2 session class.... ;-) For the Feast of St. John Lateran...not sure if you have seen this site. It is a Virtual Reality Tour of the Basilica... very lovely way to appreciate the Holy Father's Church.
