It was to Juan Diego, a member of the Chichimeca (Mexican) people, that the Virgin Mary appeared at Tepeyac, near Mexico City.
He was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2002.

This picture is a charcoal sketch of the Virgin Mary drawn by my Aunt, Clara Buck, at the age of 16. She died in the 1970's at the age of 82. This one drawing remains with its wrinkles, water spots and love. I have it hanging in my home at well over 100 years old
