Tuesday of this week, 38 new Archbishops received the symbol of their office (a stole, called a Pallium, made of lamb's wool)from Pope Benedict XVI.
Among those receiving the Pallium was Archbishop Thomas Wenski, the new Archbishop of Miami, a former schoolmate of mine:

In our Gospel reading this morning, Jesus begin His journey to Jerusalem. With the Church, we, too, are on the road with Jesus. Let us consider how our life is a pilgrimage - where it's been, is now, and is going.

Being called by God, we once thought, was rare and special. It is actually a universal invitation.
Biblical call stories reveal real people in ordinary situations being summoned into the extraordinary vocation of doing God's will.
Saying "yes" or "no" to God's call is our prerogative. But an immediate, decisive, and unconditional response is required.

The Oil is out there for sure . . .
The Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

How do you cope with the stresses of daily life and your responsibilities?
Where and how do you find rest and renewal when you really need it?

"Forgiveness is God's invention for coming to terms with a world in which, despite their best intentions, people are unfair to each other and hurt each other deeply. He began by forgiving us. And He invites us all to forgive each other."
